A pen and ink drawing from the view outside my window (Brady Hall) from Spring 2011. Trying to get a grasp of natural textures through this amazing medium. Snow is in the foreground. Most of my current artwork is in various stages of creation so I went back through the pages and pages of former artworks and found this little drawing. Enjoy! This blog shows certain steps on my journey as an artist. Comments are welcome. All work is for sale (contact: cdanselmi@gmail.com). Have a look!

Painting
Here's the promised "non-sketchbook pencil" post! A small gouache painting of a young woman on paper from a photo. Tried fooling around with color schemes...mainly used the lemon yellow and Prussian blue. I diluted the gouache with water in several places and layered it on like a watercolor, as opposed to its classic flat and opaque use. Enjoy.

Another Interior
Another interior sketch...trying to get a feeling of space and time (hence the two Cathys in the background, one eating soup, the other studying). Apologies for the large amount of pencil sketches...I'll try to broaden my horizons this break when I have a little more free time to dabble with other media. Next post should be something different...til then it's the good old sketchpad. Enjoy!

Study
Just a pencil study messing around with a mirror...tried to get kind of a likeness but not really. Getting back into the swing of things!
Enjoy

Breakdance Freeze
For a little change of pace, I added an image of a break dancer I drew, edited it, and generated the space background on Photoshop. The bricks came from Google Images though.
